TOWER HEALTH-JENNERSVILLE HOSPITAL AND SCCEMS- PARTNERS IN HEALTHCARE EXCELLENCE FOR THE COMMUNITY

Southern Chester County EMS-MEDIC 94 can trace its roots back to 1983 when we were formed as a 501c3 sub-corporation of the former Southern Chester County Medical Center. In 2001, when the former SCCMC was sold to Community Health Systems (CHS) and the hospital became Jennersville Regional Hospital, SCCEMS became and has remained an independent 501c not-for-profit corporation.

In October 2017, Tower Health purchased the Jennersville Hospital. Our relationship with Tower Health has grown over the past years since the acquisition. They have infused services, community programs, and infrastructure into the hospital and have grown the healthcare network available to the community. SCCEMS remains independent from Tower Health but has formed a partnership for healthcare excellence. Some examples of this relationship include:

  • Long term lease for SCCEMS’s headquarters and MEDIC 94-1 station at the hospital
  • Pharmacy and supply purchasing agreements from Tower Health saving SCCEMS thousands of dollars a year in costs.
  • Emergency planning and management assistance to the hospital by SCCEMS staff
  • Joint community training and wellness programs

We continue to grow our partnership maintaining our independence yet focusing on a collaboration for excellence in healthcare for the community.
