Southern Chester County EMS provides paramedic support to several large public gatherings each year. We are unable to offer EMS coverage for most small athletic events, such as football games, running and biking.
Regardless, we will be there quickly for any emergent need at any special event in southern Chester County, with a call to 9-1-1.
All other organizers requesting EMS coverage:
- Complete brief request form located at the bottom of this page.
- Return to chief@sccems.org
- Instructions outline deadlines and event information that we need
Important Information
We consider the following criteria in determining whether we will offer paramedic coverage:
- 5,000+ event participants
- High risk factors for participants
- Total event crowd size
- Event Access issues (e.g., major road closures)
- Availability of EMS personnel
- Availability of transport capable BLS units at the event
- Impact of the event on 9-1-1 operations
Unfortunately, we are unable to donate services for nonprofit and/or fundraising events.
We do not charge for events where our personnel and equipment are part of community events such as fairs, first Friday celebrations and parades. These events need to be requested in advance and SCCEMS may station 9-1-1 assigned resources to the event if available.
EMS special event coverage is intended for individual patient evaluation, treatment and/or transportation to an emergency department. It is not intended for, and is beyond the scope of EMS to provide, “first aid station” type services; for example: pain medicine for headaches, multiple ice packs or elastic bandages, other medical supply handouts, bottled water, etc.
SCCEMS paramedic special event coverage rates:
Paramedic/ ALS Unit: $ 100/hour with 4-hour minimum
